Celebrating the New Year is an exciting tradition for many countries. Growing up in Germany, we celebrated this special event with lots of fire works, streamers, games, dancing and of course ‘Berliner’, a kind of Donut without a whole and filled with apple jelly. You had to get up early to get your order or preorder to guarantee your delivery. In my neighborhood we enjoyed the special treat of a neighbors bagpipe presentation at the stroke of midnight.
