Memories of Childhood Easter

Easter Sunday was an exciting day! We were looking forward to all of those yummy treats awaiting to be found.

Growing up in Post WWII Germany, Life was somewhat modest. I remember piles of rubble one street over from where I lived. That’s why treats were something special, something to be savored. And for Easter, we knew, there were lots of treats coming our way.
The hunt itself was exciting, since my dad was a master at finding tricky hiding spots, in the living room no less (no suitable yard for the apartment building).Basket in hand and off we went, hopefully into the “warm” or better “hot” direction. Dad’s “warm, warm, warmer….hot!!” Guided our search efforts. At the completion of the search, we compared the contents of our baskets. It was fair, we were happy.
Happy Easter ! May your search be “hot”!
